Earlier this year I decided I wanted to have a memoir of my beloved Yellow Fronted Amazon that passed away last summer (2006).  I went on a hunt for an avian artist to paint his portrait for me.  I have a proffessional photographers portrait of Kernal, so I was looking for something a bit different.

The artist suggested a vase.  I thought that was a great idea so I decided on this.

I am ever so pleased with the vase as the artist captured his gentle eyes, his one yellow feather on his foot,  his yellow feather on the cheek (he had only one) right up to his few red feathers in his yellow crown. The beak is just perfect!!  I can't express enough how happy I am with my vase as I wanted something I could cherish forever.  The portrait looks like my Kernal to a tee.

I highly recommend Wendy if you are looking for some one to do some avian art of your birds. Wendy is a very talented lady.  My vase looks even more amazing in person.

Kernal was cremated and is now at home and surrounded by all of us that love him and miss him every single day.
